A 'Layplan' is a textiles term used to describe the most important part of the cutting process. A Layplan is the act of laying patterns on fabric before cutting, to maximise usage and minimise waste. Considering design this way has informed the way Layplan has operated from the beginning. It's about being intentional for us.

We are Lavinia Ilolahia and Talia Soloa. Besties, business partners and brown girls on the journey of celebrating the nuance of the human form with garments that observe and celebrate loveliness and boldness. We’ve always designed for ourselves first and by doing that, we design for real women with real bodies, real lives, and real stories.

We believe in the brightness and special sophistication a beautiful piece of clothing can make to how you feel and move through this world.
We wouldn’t be where we are today without our special ones – you, our Layplan community. The heart and soul of why we do this. You’ve attended market and pop up store, requested customs, bought one-off pieces, liked, and shared our content, entered competitions, and championed us as we’ve gone out on a limb with this thing.
In investing in one of our pieces, you are sharing in our values, investing in locally made, conscious garments that will stand the test of time. We hope you feel really beautiful when you wear something by us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
